Briya is up in the balcony drinking instead of skating because on 2007 July 13 she broke her ankle during roller derby practice. On that night, they rushed her from the skating rink to the hospital. Cost: $1500. And she didn't even get to ride in a fucking helicopter!!!

Well, it's two months later, and she can walk again. Soon she'll even be skating. And that's all great because she can walk her own dog, do her own laundry, and even mix her own drinks! Yes, she is truly rehabilitated.

But she's still stuck with several thousand dollars worth of medical bills.

We worked closely with Briya to explore several possible monetization techniques. Some of them were pretty plausible in theory. But rather than let her take her new-found walking skills straight to the street, we thought we'd try an amazing new fund raising approach: begging.
