IT WORKS BOTH WAYS
by Gwen Elwood.

If I had my own gum-ball machine,
Filled to the rim with gum,
I know I'd like to chew it all--
But instead, I'd give you some.

And if I had a new toy
It would not matter whether
I took it for my very own
Or we played with it together.

And if I had a great dessert--
Like creamy carrot cake--
Why would I not give you some,
And watch the smile you'd make?

And if you should forget your lunch,
I'd share with you my meal.
'Cause sharing really makes me feel
The way I like to feel!

Yes, this is something that I know
I'd always choose to do. . .
And sharing with you is best of all-
'Cuz you share with me too!
